Reported by: arno@… Owned by: somebody
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: BT Engine Version: Tribler Client 5.0
Severity: minor Keywords: 93072748

Description (last modified by arno@…) (diff)

The Tribler installer gives errors:
1. when running the installer .exe from a directory that contains
special characters, e.g. when the username is special and the
installer was saved on the Desktop (==C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Desktop)

2. when selecting an install directory than contains special characters, e.g. when the username is special and the
install dir was Desktop or My Documents (==C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents). In this case, the NSIS installer will popup a Abort/Retry/Ignore dialog saying "Error opening file for writing: <installdir>"

Should turn this bugreport into a report to NSIS. Solution is to put the installer and install dir in a "safe" directory like c:\downloads or c:\program files\tribler (the default ;o). I'll add an entry to the FAQ explaining this.
